The goal of this program is to predict high-speed flow over flight-vehicles, predict the instability of the boundary layer and its transition, and to alter transition through control. In this case, we simulate and validate plasma actuators placed on the bodies of the vehicle. The outcome of the work will allow designers to reduce loads on payloads flight-vehicles, and launch structures.
